  1. 01. Conventional Vasectomy: It is the oldest method among the vasectomy procedures and involves long time involving surgery on the scrotum as well that begins with shaving and cleaning of the scrotum followed by an injection on the scrotum for the purpose of local anesthesia. The patient, however, can use anesthesia cream for reducing the pain of the injection area on the scrotum with the prior permission from his doctor.
  2. An incision is made on the scrotum, and then one vas deferens is taken out and clamped at a gap of 20mm approximately. The portion between the clamps is cut apart, and the cut ends are further sealed by sutures and cauterized with an electric needle. The length of the removed vas deferens must be above 15mm.
  3. 02. Fascial Interposition Vasectomy: Fascial Interposition Vasectomy aims to improve the quality of contraception by way of a fibrous layer that is known as fascial around the cut area of vas deferens and then stitched. This is done in addition to the conventional vasectomy process.
  4. 03. Open & Close Ended Vasectomy: Out of the cut ends of the vas deferens one end that leads to the prostrate is tied or sutured, and the other end leading to the testicles are left open.
  5. 04. No-Scalpel Vasectomy: Doctors feel the vas deferens under the skin and then hold deferens with the help of clips, make a minor opening on the scrotum, take out tubes and then cut them apart and suture at the cut ends that follows cauterizing.
  6. 05. Implantation of Vasclip: Here plastic made rice sized vasclip is used to block the cut ends of the vas deferens that essentially reduces time in completing the vasectomy process. All other remain the same as of no-scalpel vasectomy.

Laser Vasectomy Sounds Something Unique – Is That So?

Knowledge is power to you and me, and there is no scope for argument on this. That's why it is said that a problem well defined is half solved. This, in essence, means we are to get the root of a problem we must know what it is all about and why it appears critical or trouble maker to us. This can only be possible when we stand to learn the issue in hand in detail. Hence let us explore what vasectomy is all about followed by others such what good or bad it may amount to if we opt for a vasectomy.

Vasectomy Definition:

Vasectomy by definition is a surgical process that cut apart the vas deferens that carries sperms from the testicles to the prostate. At this point, it may sound very casual – but it bears a greater implication in your conjugal life for sure by way of controlling birth thereby help you effectively plan your family size.

Vasectomy a Good or Bad Idea?

Unfortunately vasectomy has earned a bad name as well in the matters of post operational life despite the doctors' assurances about its' universality about sterility and comfort. Some patients, as reported, had been suffering from persistent itching like sensation that can otherwise be termed as discomfort, some were having granulomas, and a few were complaining about fever along with scrotum hematoma. Some people even complained about infections in the operation area.

There's no denying the fact that vasectomy can accompany problems like that in immediate post operation life, but it's surely not meant for permanent. Fever can be cured at home by taking medicine under the advice of your doctor, but for other problems you need to see your doctor personally so much so that he/she can get to the root of the issue for your immediate cure.

What is Laser Vasectomy?

This method of vasectomy is known to have been as a process plain and simple and doesn't ask for much of you. The ones to mention here that laser vasectomy is relatively new as a process.

Under the laser vasectomy, a small hole is done on the patient's scrotum and then the laser beam is pointed on the vas deferens. As long it doesn't cut apart and post the act of cutting apart the cut end are then tied properly. So much so that it no longer remains vulnerable to bearing the sperms from the testicles. This process essentially looks like no-scalpel vasectomy and the only difference lies here that there's no use of scissors – rather a laser beam is used in this place.

The cheaper version of laser vasectomy, however, doesn't call for making any hole in the scrotum. Rather a laser beam is directly applied on the skin of the scrotum post feeling the position of the vas deferens, and the beam is allowed to continue as long as it doesn't cut apart the vas deferens and then the cut end is tied up. This direct application of laser beam on the scrotum skin is however not recommended given the fact that the laser beam essentially burns away the flesh beneath the skin as well.

Is Reversing the Vasectomy Painful?

The topic reminds me of the third law of motion as invented by Sir Isaac Newton that says ever action has an equal and opposite reaction. Milk is important at the growing stage of the children that essentially supplements their growth by way of providing necessary vitamins and minerals. But, after attaining some age this milk can be proved fatal particularly when you are suffering from cholesterol. Your doctor will advise you on this better for sure.

You must be wondering why it is so. The reason is during the vasectomy there still can be left over sperms in the seminal fluid that effectively come out at this period and get the female partner pregnant. Ideally a person requires ejaculations of 25 to 30 times so as to become sterile; the number of ejaculations, however, varies up to 50 in stray cases.
